Six steps from installation to your first transcript.
Download the latest version and unzip it:
Drag Rekorder.app into your Applications folder.
Because Rekorder is not distributed via the Mac App Store, you need to sign the app once via Terminal. Open Terminal (find it via Spotlight: Cmd+Space, then type "Terminal") and run:
xattr -cr /Applications/Rekorder.appThis command removes the macOS quarantine flag. You only need to run it once.
Double-click Rekorder.app in your Applications folder. The app appears as a small icon in your menu bar (top right).
Rekorder is a menu-bar app — it has no Dock icon and no regular window. Click the Rekorder icon in the menu bar to open the main window.
To use transcriptions, you need an account:
You will receive a confirmation email. Click the link to activate your account.
Transcriptions cost EUR 1 net per hour of audio (plus statutory VAT). Top up your balance:
The credit is available immediately and never expires. You will receive a proper invoice by email.

Record a meeting: Click the red record button. Rekorder records via your microphone. Stop the recording when the meeting ends.
Import audio: Drag an audio file (WAV, MP3, M4A) into the Rekorder window or use the import button.
Click Transcribe on a recording. The AI processes your audio and delivers:
After transcription you can assign names to the speakers and export the result as Markdown or plain text.
Optional: use the AI analysis for automatic summaries and action items.
